Get acquainted with the broader Tyne and Wear area in its local museums and galleries or cheer on the beloved Newcastle United with the Toon Army. Shoppers can wend their way through independent stores in cobbled High Bridge and go bargain hunting in sales at the Metro Centre or Eldon Square. Polish it all off with some pub grub or gourmet cuisine, a drink or two in the trendy Ouseburn valley, or a walk through one of the many parks in Newcastle.

Sport & Leisure
North East England has a proud footballing tradition with Newcastle United and Sunderland AFC and it also boast premiership Newcastle Falcons Rugby team and the Durham County Cricket Club. For people who love the great outdoors, there is surfing along the stunning North East coastline and the coast-to-coast cycle trail to Carlisle. The region also hosts the world’s largest half marathon, The Great North Run, which attracts more than 55,000 participants each year.
